DJ Lee has published over a hundred prose poems, essays, and articles, the memoir, Remote: Finding Home in the Bitterroots (OSU Press), and eight scholarly books, including The Land Speaks (Oxford). She has received numerous awards and prizes, including Entropy Magazine “Best Nonfiction Books of 2020–2021”; 2021 Eric Hoffer Book Award, Honorable Mention (Memoir); the Andy Hope Award, a Special Mention Pushcart Prize; and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Lee is a Regents Professor of English at Washington State University, where she teaches literature and creative writing. For ten years she also directed the university’s Visiting Writers Series. Artist residencies include the Arctic Circle Artist Residency, Women’s Studio Workshop, and The Wilderness Art Collective. She has a PhD from the University of Arizona and an MFA from Bennington College.
